Terms of Service
Last updated 23 October 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Yazow (“Yazow”, “we”, “us”) for your use of the Yazow website, web app and browser extension (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service for an organisation, you agree on its behalf and confirm you have authority to do so.
Please read section 15 carefully. It requires most disputes to be resolved through individual binding arbitration, not in court or as part of a class action, unless you opt out within 30 days.
1. Who can use Yazow
You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EEA and UK) and able to form a binding contract. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms for you. You can’t use the Service if you are barred from doing so by law.
2. Your account
Give us accurate information, keep your password secure, and don’t share your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us right away at team@yazow.app if you think someone has accessed it without permission.
3. Plans, payment and cancellation
- Free. The free plan includes 1 project you own, plus the sample project and any projects you are invited to. We may change what the free plan includes, with notice.
- Pro. Pro is a paid subscription, billed monthly or yearly in advance. It is sold through Link, Stripe’s merchant of record service, which takes the payment, calculates and collects any sales tax or VAT, and sends your receipts. Prices are shown on our pricing page and at checkout, and exclude taxes unless stated. You authorise Link to charge your payment method for each billing period.
- Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel anytime in Settings → Plan and billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, and you keep Pro until then.
- Refunds. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable and we don’t give credits for partial periods. If something went wrong, email us; we’re reasonable.
- Price changes. We’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice of a price change. It applies from your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails and isn’t fixed, your account moves to the free plan.
- Downgrading. If you move to the free plan, nothing is deleted. Your projects stay and remain editable, but you can’t create new projects beyond the free limit or export decision books as PDFs.
4. Your content
“Your content” means everything you or your collaborators add to the Service: images, links, notes, votes, decisions and so on. You keep ownership of your content. You give Yazow a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, display and transmit your content only as needed to operate, secure and improve the Service for you, for example to create thumbnails, extract colour palettes, show it to the collaborators you choose, and publish a decision book when you turn on a public link. This licence ends when your content is deleted, except for backup copies that age out on their normal schedule.
You are responsible for your content and confirm that you have the rights needed to add it. Saving images and links for personal planning and reference is what Yazow is for. Don’t use the Service to republish or distribute other people’s work in a way that infringes their rights.
5. Collaborators and sharing
- The owner of a project controls who can access it and can remove collaborators or delete the project at any time, including content collaborators added.
- When you add content to someone else’s project, you let the project’s members see and use it within that project, and it stays in the project if you leave.
- Public links make a decision book and its spec sheets viewable by anyone who has the link. Only turn them on for content you’re happy to share, and turn them off when you’re done.
6. Acceptable use
Don’t use the Service to:
- break the law, or infringe anyone’s intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
- upload or share content that is illegal, sexually exploits minors, harasses or threatens people, or promotes violence or hatred;
- send spam or unwanted invitations, or impersonate anyone;
- upload malware, or probe, scan or attack the Service or other networks, including using the link-saving feature to reach systems you aren’t allowed to access;
- scrape the Service, overload it, or get around usage limits, plan limits or security measures;
- resell or provide the Service to others without our written permission, or copy it to build a competing product.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
7. Copyright complaints
We respect intellectual property rights and respond to notices under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, email team@yazow.app with: your contact details; a description of the copyrighted work; the location of the material (such as the public link); a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn’t authorised; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner; and your physical or electronic signature. If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you can send us a counter-notice. We disable the accounts of repeat infringers where appropriate.
8. The browser extension
The Yazow extension saves pages, links and images to your account when you ask it to. It is licensed to you for personal use with the Service, under these Terms and the Chrome Web Store’s terms. How it handles data is described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Our rights
Yazow and its licensors own the Service, including its software, design, text, graphics and the Yazow name and logo. These Terms don’t give you any right to use our trademarks. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them freely, without any obligation to you.
10. Third-party sites and services
The Service links to and fetches previews from third-party websites, and uses third-party services such as Stripe and Google. We don’t control and aren’t responsible for them, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.
11. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We’re always improving Yazow, so features may change, and occasionally we may remove one. We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we’ll tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the new Terms. If you don’t agree, stop using the Service and delete your account.
12. Ending your use
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if the law requires it, or if your use creates risk or harm for Yazow or others. Where reasonable, we’ll warn you first and give you a chance to get a copy of your content. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice and refund any prepaid fees for the unused period. Sections 4 (the part about your responsibility), 7, 9, and 13 to 16 survive termination.
13. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, Yazow disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. We don’t promise the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that content will never be lost, so keep copies of anything you can’t afford to lose. Prices, specifications, lead times and other details you or your collaborators enter, or that we fetch from other sites, may be wrong or out of date. Check them with the supplier before you buy or commit to anything.
14. Limitation of liability and indemnity
To the fullest extent the law allows: Yazow won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from or related to the Service or these Terms, even if we were told they were possible. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service or these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US$100.
Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain disclaimers or limits on liability, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Yazow from claims, damages and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms or of anyone’s rights.
15. Disputes and arbitration
Talk to us first. If you have a dispute with Yazow, email team@yazow.app and give us 60 days to try to resolve it informally.
Binding individual arbitration. If we can’t resolve it, you and Yazow agree to settle any dispute arising from or relating to the Service or these Terms through final and binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, instead of in court. The arbitration may take place by video or in the county where you live. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court, and either of us may ask a court to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property.
No class actions. Disputes will be resolved only on an individual basis, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, consolidated or representative proceeding. You and Yazow each waive the right to a jury trial.
Opting out. You can opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing team@yazow.app within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, with your name, the email address on your account, and a clear statement that you are opting out. If any part of this section is found unenforceable for a particular claim, that claim will be decided in court under section 16, and the rest of this section still applies.
If you live in the EEA or the UK, this section doesn’t apply to you, and you may bring claims in the courts of the country where you live.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which Yazow is organized and applicable federal law of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The Federal Arbitration Act governs section 15. Subject to section 15, disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts located there, and you and Yazow consent to their jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in a country whose laws give you rights that can’t be waived by contract, nothing in these Terms removes those rights.
17. General
These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Yazow about the Service. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we don’t enforce a right right away, we haven’t waived it. You can’t transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control. We may send you notices by email or in the app.
